About the project

Cured objects

Statistics are collected automatically from several Dr.Web AV-Desk servers run by providers. This data does not indicate the actual scale of infection in networks, because some service providers prohibit us from using their figures in our stats.

The quality of an anti-virus application is defined not only by its ability to detect viruses, but also to cure them by restoring files to their original state instead of deleting them. An infected file may contain information that is very important to a user. Operation in an infected environment and exceptional resistance to viruses sets Dr.Web apart from other anti-viruses. Dr.Web is one of the few anti-viruses that in most cases can be installed on an infected machine and is capable of curing it. Most viruses infecting a system can be neutralized during installation of the Dr.Web anti-virus while memory and autorun files are scanned.

The graph below shows the number of files 1) cured (i.e. restored to their original state on user PCs protected by anti-virus agents); 2) detected by anti-virus agents and removed (malicious programs such as Trojans cannot be cured); 3) quarantined; 4) blocked.
